The skills you acquired while paying for your way through school in Berea College translated to handyman skills which allowed you not only survive in the US in the 80s but allowed you to spend time teaching your children about some of these basic life skills.
Dad was indeed Jack of all trade and master of all. I remember, dad used to tell you " don't just sit there are star at the four walls, be creative" The skills I have today is because of your constant reminder, that we should be creative. I'm able to build bikes, trampolines, do repairs around my house because you taught us, that being creative means we don't always have to rely or pay people to do things that we can do ourselves.
